Position and Draping
Procedure
Procedure
1.Skin incision with surgical blade No. 20.
2.Haemostasis with diathermy pen.
3.Dissect muscle and expose knee joint with diathermy, mayo curved scissors and periosteal elevator.
4.Perform initiate tibial plateau cutting.
5.Apply anterotation guide to mark a reference on distal femur for resection guide.
6.Apply anterior resection guide for initial anterior resection.
7.Followed by distal cutting.
8.Measure femur size with femoral sizer.
9.Test the flexion and extension gaps with spacer block.
10.Perform A--P cut, chamfer cut and notch cut accordingly.
11.Apply appropriate femoral provisional.
12.Size the tibia with tibial template.
13.Prepare tibial side with tibial stem broach.
14.+/-Prepare patella with patella cutting guide and patella drill.
15.Apply appropriate tibial tray, insert and patella provisional for trial reduction and test the range of motion.
16.Irrigate wound with pulsavac.
17.Turn off diathermy for cement preparation.
18.Prepare cement for implantation.
19.Turn on diathermy and perform haemostatsis.
20.Irrigate wound with pulsavac again.
21.Close wound with Stratafix, vicryl 1, vicryl 2/O and skin stapler.
22.Dress wound with Aquacel Ag, plain gauze, velband and crepe bandage.
